As someone working in the environmental space for years, I expected the climate crisis and emergency, but I wasn’t prepared for the broader metacrisis now unfolding, touching every layer of human life. I’m still making sense of these times myself, and again and again, the path seems to lead back to community. Thank you for being here.

We’re honored and humbled to share that Psychedelics for Climate Action (PSYCA) has been named the 2025 Winner in Education & Community Impact at the first-ever Psychedelics Design Awards, held in virtually on May 15.

PSYCA was recognized for turning a climate emergency into a consciousness opportunity—through community, advocacy, storytelling, and collaboration. This award reflects the heart of what we do: inviting people to reconnect with the Earth, with themselves, and with each other in service of healing and planetary stewardship.

Climate Week NYC is around the corner, and our landmark event’s theme this year will be “Climate Consciousness.” Our programming will have a format similar to last year’s gathering, which engaged our 13,000-person community, united 400 people in NYC, featured 30 inspiring speakers, offered a track of 12 climate-conscious events, and resulted in global media. With all solutions available, why are we in a crisis? At Psychedelics for Climate Action (PSYCA), every day is Earth Day. But this week, we face a pivotal moment. As a 501(c) entity fiscally sponsored by a climate-focused 501(c)(3), PSYCA could be directly impacted by reports that an Earth Day executive order is being considered to eliminate nonprofit tax status for climate-related organizations. “Climate resilience” is evolving. Traditionally, it has been the domain of urban planners, policymakers, and scientists.
